This page is a collection of errors and bugs you may encounter while using ExaGRyPE, along with some potential solutions.
Obviously there will always be new issues beyond this list; if so, please do not hesitate to contact us directly via email, Slack, office knock, etc.
If you encounter issues at this stage, it is very likely due to an old compiler or supporting library. Please install or load an as-new-as-possible Intel compiler (the currently working one for me is 2025.2.1) and MPI module. Also please make sure you set the compiler correctly:
We provide a list of the modules you need to load on COSMA/DINE as an example in Run ExaGRyPE on Clusters. For more information on dependencies and prerequisites, please check the page Installation.
Depending on your system, you might have to load the GSL module separately for running ExaGRyPE. It is required by the external library for initial conditions for black holes (not needed for the gauge wave scenario).
In principle the library is already implemented in ExaHyPE and no external inclusion is needed, but the entry below is kept just in case. The GSL module is available on most cluster systems.
and include the installation in the CXX flags in the configuration
Remember to add the Python directory of Peano into the PYTHONPATH of your system, or your script would crash immediately with no module issue. We recommend to use absolute path in long term usuage:
If you see Python report the missing of ast_comments or jinja2 when running the ExaGRyPE API script, that indicate you forget to install them. On clusters where you may not have authorization of module installation, use --user arguement
If you see
When you call the render.py script of Peano, that means you miss the vtk library in your Python installation. Use
also try
if pip3 does not work properly.
