Explore data with PyVista

PyVista is popular with Peano, as a lot of end users prefer Python for postprocessing, or even want to embed the postprocessing into Jupyter notebooks.

Installation

As with the rest of Peano's Python side, install into a virtual environment rather than into your system Python - consult the installation page if you have not set one up for Peano yet:

python3 -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
pip install --upgrade pip
pip install -e .

PyVista itself is not part of Peano's own requirements.txt - it is an optional, purely postprocessing-side dependency - so install it into that same virtual environment on top:

pip install pyvista

Remember to run source .venv/bin/activate again in every new terminal session before you use PyVista.
